Frequently, Parks and Recreation Staff may videotape or photograph participants enrolled in programs, classes, events or enjoying park facilities. The photographs are for Marshall Parks and Recreation publications, flyers, brochures, program guides or advertisements. All photos and videotapes are for Marshall Parks and Recreation use.
The Marshall Parks and Recreation Department and Marshall Park Board does not provide insurance coverage for injuries suffered while participating in programs or using facilities. All participants and users of Park facilities do so at their own risk. We, therefore, urge that anyone participating in programs or using Park facilities make their own provisions to provide adequate coverage with their own insurance carriers.
The Marshall Parks and Recreation Department assumes no responsibility for private lessons of any type given in the park.
Shelters are available for your group’s picnic, family reunion or Sunday afternoon outing. Seminole Court Shelter, Optimist Shelter, Lions Club, North Point, Hilltop, Battle of Marshall Shelter, West Wind, and Lake View Shelters can be reserved for a fee of $30.00. These shelters can be used by anyone when not reserved. Shelters may be reserved up to one year in advance of desired date. (Example: if you wish to use a shelter on May 1, 2025, you may reserve it on May 1, 2024). A reservation is not completed until the fee is paid. Individuals are welcomed to pay between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday—Friday at the Parks Administration Office. Requests may be made by telephone or in person. If the fee is not paid within the week, the shelter will become available for other requests. Reservations of less than a week of desired date must be paid for immediately. A receipt will be issued on payment and this receipt must be with you during the use of the shelter and will be your proof of reservation. SHELTER FEES ARE NOT REFUNDABLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Shelter reservations may be transferred to another available date or location up to 30 days in advance of the reservation.
In an effort to standardize our policy and provide improved communications with our participants, Parks and Recreation has adopted the following guidelines:
In activities where fees are charged, they are minimal and help provide for professional instruction and/or provide officials for our activities. All fees are due at the time of registration and are non-refundable unless activities are cancelled. You can register for programs by going to the Marshall Parks and Recreation Department Administration Office, online at www.marshallmoparks.com, or call (660)886-7128.
